Semi Custom Builds

PROCESS –

In this process you want a semi custom yacht built, because you like the boats we have built and want one of your own, but with some modest changes to suit your planned use and unique vision.

In this case, since we are repeating a process, the build tends to be less expensive, more predictable and take less time to complete.

At YORK CUSTOM YACHTS we have developed a series of tested and proven hull shapes in sizes ranging from 34’ to 48’, the latter expandable to 52’ and a series of both DOWNEAST and CONTEMPORARY styled deck houses for a client who chooses to avoid the time and cost of engaging a naval architect.

You may well work with an interior designer to help personalize the look and feel of what remains the collaboration with a custom boat builder to personalize your yacht: determining the number of staterooms, the size and style of the galley, the décor and outfitting.

MOCK UP –

Once again we at YORK offer the client the opportunity to experience the final product in a series of mock ups that will demonstrate spatial relations, cabinetry, finishes, etc.

CONSTRUCTION –

Since the concept of semi custom boat builders is to have on hand the tooling, or molds, in which the structure is built, our build will proceed more directly, saving man hours and reducing the duration of the project – usually many months earlier than in a totally custom yacht build .

WARRANTY –

For us, as with a custom build project, the final phase includes our ongoing relationship of warranty attention and general maintenance.
